Creative Radio Course
Have you ever wanted to make your own radio show? Perhaps you recorded one on cassette when you were a child. Maybe you've written a play that you'd love to produce or are keen to investigate a local issue in depth. Or perhaps you're great at telling funny stories or can recognise birds by their songs.
Thanks to funding from the South West Foundation, Soundart Radio ran a Creative Radio Course throughout Autumn 2009 for 12 participants at the Mansion in Totnes. Each week the group made short pieces for broadcast, covering field recordings, storytelling, interviews, drama, journalism and improvised sound.
The group worked alongside visiting experts journalist Lindsey Sill, storyteller Marissa Latimer, actor Catherine Guy, and composer Sam Richards as well as Soundart Radio staff Nell and Lucinda.
